Farideh Sakhaeifar, Workers are taking photographs, 2008, inkjet prints, 18x24 inches each
http://www.wholmangallery.com/artists/farideh-sakhaeifar/featured-works#5

This is certainly no a painting. However it does have an interesting concept. Not to mention the reptilian of lines and the 90 degree angles that occurs. It is a bit of a confusing optical illusion. Perhaps a piece of art can be confusing but almost draw the eyes instinctively words and away from it. I mean at first it just looks like a man at war or in prison or some other grim circumstance. One might feel pity for such a creature until you spot the hands holding up the white board of course. Does the artisan use photo shop or is there indeed someone behind the board?

Rebecca Bird, Plateau, 2014, Watercolor on paper, 14 x 20 inches

This painting is cool except for the part that there is something about it that I hate. Perhaps hate is a politically incorrect word or perhaps I'm in a bad mood. At first it's icy presence made me shudder and be filled with a sense of delight. However I found out the accursed thing was painted with water colors.

Untitled (Winter Version Too), 2014
Acrylic on canvas
72 x 52.5 inches
182.9 x 133.4 cm

I don't feel like Ih ave the skills to accomplish such a feat. However looking at this it's interesting that if you are far enough away the picture becomes gray. The subject matter could be a mountain or a crumpled up piece of paper. Really the world is it's oyster. After all this would be a very different piece if the boxed were filled in.
